Just a quick update on the end of the trip:
After Halloween we had a class trip to Heidelberg where we participated in the philosopher's walk. That night we found out that Cat and Josh are going to have a baby! We also watched some of the Presidential elections... it was a BIG night.
Then we headed to Munich where we had presentations on public art and parks. Munich is BEAUTIFUL... I really enjoyed all the public art they have.
After Munich we went to a concentration camp in Dachau. It is the oldest camp, and the longest lasting camp. So it had a diverse history. I learned more about the Holocaust from half a day here than in my entire life.
Some of us then took a long weekend trip to Zurich Switzerland. It was beautiful, but SO expensive that we ended up just walking around everywhere. We had a lot of fun just strolling without a strict agenda.
When we got home to Bonn from Zurich, we all planned on resting until we found out that Karnival was about to happen. So we got out to Cologne for the opening of Karnival.
I also participated in the Dottendorf St. Martin's Day, which is like the American Halloween. Kids walk around with lanterns and sing songs for treats. It was a lot of fun.
For the last few weeks, I decided to not go on any long trips. So I went on a few select day trips to:
- Solingen- to see the Schloss Berg and for the cheese market
- Aachen - to go to the spas again/Christmas market
- Bonn/Cologne Christmas Markets
- Nuremberg- for the MOST famous Christmas Market
I already miss it SO much.
